Film: Hello World!
Hello World! Is a whimsical examination of a fragile ecosystem, made with papier-mâché puppets. These 10 episodes are 10 animated adventures in stop motion and hand-crafted sculptures set in beautifully painted backgrounds. An artist’s view on how is a bird born, why does one come into the world as an insect, mammal or fish?
Film: Little Vampire
Little Vampire has been 10 years old for the last 300 years. Despite living in a haunted house with a merry group of monsters, he is bored to death… His dream? Going to school to meet other kids. Unfortunately, his parents won’t let him leave the mansion, as for them, the outside world is way too dangerous. Accompanied by Fantomate, his faithful bulldog, Little Vampire escapes from the manor in secret, determined to meet other children. Adapted by celebrated illustrator Joann Sfar from his own eponymous comic book.

In a spellbinding show, storyteller Matthew Crampton and pianist Olga Jegunova tell their own version of the world’s best-selling and most-translated book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince, improvising on classical themes to weave musical magic throughout the words.

Film: Quentin Blake: The Drawing of My Life
In this celebration of one of Britain’s best-loved artists, illustrator and author Sir Quentin Blake tells the story of his 70-year long career, in his own words – and with his own pictures! He is filmed as he is creating an extraordinary new work especially for this documentary: a huge canvas on which self-portraits and classic characters emerge in his instantly recognisable, energetic, and ebullient style.

Exhibition: Quentin Blake
Sir Quentin Blake, illustrator of Roald Dahl’s famous books and so many classics, is the patron of the South Ken Kids Festival. This year, he is sharing special illustrations with us: from La Fontaine’s Fables celebrating the 400 years of the author’s birthday to some nature-inspired drawings highlighting the urgency to tackle climate change, enter into the universe of the beloved Quentin Blake in a unique exhibition.
Due to special events, there will be some disruption in the opening times of the Quentin Blake exhibition.

A Poetry Slam is a competitive event where poets are judged on their skills as writers as well as performers. The poetry Slam is always warm, rowdy and fun. Piano Recital & Live Drawing with Louise Cournarie, Antoine Préat & Jo Weaver
For your ears and eyes’ delight only, two talented young pianists Louise Cournarie and Antoine Préat will play magnificent pieces from the classical repertoire, including Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, accompanied on stage by illustrator Jo Weaver, whose beautiful nature-inspired work will strike your imagination in a live drawing for the ages.
